Professor Simon Clarke

Director of the Centre for Psycho-Social Studies

Simon is author of several books which include: Social Theory, Psychoanalysis and Racism (2003); From Enlightenment to Risk: Social Theory and Modern Societies 2005); Emotion, Politics and Society (2006); Researching Beneath the Surface (2009) and White Identities: A Critical Sociological Approach (2009). Simon is Consulting Editor of the international journal Psychoanalysis, Culture & Society published by Palgrave Macmillan Journals. He has just completed (with Steve Garner) a major ESRC research project which looks at new forms of identity construction in contemporary Britain.
